The International Migration Centre Karnataka (IMC-K) is an initiative of the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka established to create sustained overseas employment pathways for people of Karnataka and make international migration from the State safe, orderly, humane and efficient.
SDEL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Affairs Centre (PAC), a think tank based out of Bengaluru to implement the IMC-K framework as technical and knowledge partner.
The Framework is titled as Roll-out and Implementation Support to Establish and Institutionalise the International Migration Centre – Karnataka (IMC-K) and is a five-year partnership between the SDEL and the PAC from 2018-2023.
The IMC-K is a multi-modular, integrated framework of institutions that facilitates the global mobility of skills and the development of Overseas Employment Pathways from the State.
The components that combine to form the ecosystem include the Recruitment Agency Karnataka (RAK), Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), Research & Analysis Division (RAD), Strategic Group and a bottom-up Migrant Facilitation Architecture (MFA) also known as the three-tier architecture, and Karnataka International Skills Centres (ISCs).
These components are supported with a series of activities for ecosystem enhancement, stakeholder engagement and informing policy.
